Off to see the wizard...

... the wonderful Wizard of OZ!! We had so much fun at the movie in the park night at Vander Veer Park Saturday. They had crafts for the kids, a few characters, the yellow brick road, and quite the scene in the botanical center. (The Garden of Oz is still on display) The movie was played on a 40 foot inflatable screen. Fun, fun, fun!! {beware... picture overload!!!}

QC Air Show

This weekend I took the girls to the airshow. Hallie thought it was really neat. Reese was done after the first SUPER LOUD jet went by. We got some ear plugs in her and she... fell asleep :) We had to cut our trip early when Hallie got sick. Sunday she said she felt good & looked good so we tried the airshow once again.... same ending :( It is now Wednesday and today is the first day she has kept her food and water down. {she didn't eat much, but it stayed down!!} So since Saturday we have just been taking it easy... no pics. Yesterday we had a movie marathon. I dug out my favorites I thought Hallie would like... and she loved!!
*Wizard of Oz (for those of you in the QCA this is the FREE movie in the park on Friday at Vender Veer Park in Davenport)
*Mary Poppins (Hallie actually watched this three times in a row!!)
*Annie
Okay, here's the airshow pics... (warning: not great pics, but shows we were there!)

Creative Imaginations

This layout combines my favorite Creative Imaginations products. I love CI's new Holey paper!!! It makes great accents on the page OR makes a really cool/interesting layout as the back cardstock. I also can't get enough of the rub-ons. The swatch books are FULL of fun shapes or quotes. (They even worked great on my jumbo ric-rac!!) Of course we all love transparencies, right?? I use mine as accents on the page. Sometimes as frames on pictures. Thanks for looking :)

Picnics, walks & more beach...

We have been lovin' this weather!! Unfortunately, I hear it is about to end :( Here comes the rain! In the meantime, we have been having lunch outside! The girls think it is so cool (and they actually eat better!) Don't ya love the cute picnic plates the girls have?? *Thanks Jodi!!*

We have also been going for a little walk in the mornings. This bike "trailer" thing we got is getting more use than I ever imagined! Ryan takes them on bike rides and I unhook it and take it for walks... FABULOUS!!

Today we went back to the beach with Levi and Becky. I think we will be making a lot of trips here this summer... we all have a great time, and it is so much more relaxing then the pool! So far the beach isn't crowded, they have beach chairs to sit in, and it keeps the girls busy. {We may have to take out a second mortgage with all of the sunscreen we've been buying!}

Tomorrow isn't going to be nearly as exciting... house cleaning day... getting ready for our Sunday open house. I'll be blogging again after the weekend!

A day outside

We took advantage of the fabulous weather and spent the day outside! We started at the elementary playground.

After lunch we headed off to West Lake to hit the beach! Both girls loved it! We can't wait to go back.

Before heading home we went for a ride around the lake in a peddle boat. What a workout!! Hallie thought it was great (and wants to take her dad next time) Reese on the other hand HATED the life jacket! So, she cried the first 10 mins or so.

We made it back home about 5:30. After supper the girls wanted to play outside and ride bikes. Here are pics of Reese and her new bike & Hallie giving her new doll a ride. {these are from Monday night}

A little of everything...

We have been SUPER busy since my last post!! Here's the lowdown... (pictures are small since there are so many, just click on them to see larger)

Friday- Hallie had her recital rehearsal. (enjoy the videos!! The first is her dance and the second is the finale!! They are so dang cute!!) Afterwards Levi & Hallie had "Daddy Dates" and went to the movies (and Papa Ron). My mom, Tricia, Reese, Becky, Jessie {our refugee from flooded Iowa City) & I went out to dinner.

Saturday- I had to work {taught a class and club} As I was getting off work we were greeted by an AMAZING double rainbow. (I think it was one of the brightest I have ever seen) When I got home Ryan and Ron grilled up FABULOUS steaks while the "ladies" made yummy sides. We ended the night, into the wee hours of the morning playing WII !!

Sunday- {Happy Father's Day!} After brunch we all got ready for Hallie's "big show"! She looked adorable and was sooooo excited to get to dance on the big stage! {not nervous a bit!} She did a great job. After her daddy greeted her flowers. We celebrated her big day and Father's day at the Japanese Steakhouse for supper.

Here is the canvas I made for Ryan for Father's Day {he hung it on the wall right away!}

**Update on my evacuated sister**
She is still not allowed into her apartment (obviously, since the first story of her apt. place is under water!!) But she had to go back to Iowa City (since I-80 reopened) to work. She is staying with a friend. She will keep me posted... it just blows my mind that Coralville/Iowa City will never be the same! They said many businesses will never reopen (Reminisce!!- so sad) and others will take months.
