Girl with a mission...

This week a representative from the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation came to Hallie's preschool to talk about the upcoming walk. They were each given 10 red paper shoes. When she got home she was on a mission to sell them. I agreed (knowing it was only 10) She was all prepared with what she was going to say...

"Hello, would you like to help me fight diabetes?"
{How can they say no???}
"Sure, what do I do?"
"Just write your name on this shoe and give me a dollar."

She sold all ten right away!! We get home she tells me to call the school... she wants more shoes ;) So we look at the info package we had gotten and she decided she wanted to sell 75. (so she can get the level 4 prize... a shoe radio) I got more shoes and she was off!! Seriously, I just walked along... she did all of the talking and explaining. She answered people's questions they asked her:

Q: Why is this important to you? (I was thinking, really?? She's 5)
A: Because I want to give money so they can figure out how to make the sick kids better.

Q: What are you going to do with all of the shoes?
A: We are going to hang them in our school.

Q: What school do you go to?
A: ummmmmm.... hesitates... My mom knows the way.

So after a short walk, a lot of doors, and a fun afternoon... Hallie had raised her $75 goal!! :) Sometimes she amazes me.

4 friends had to say...:
