Let the festivities begin....

Hallie's 4th birthday fun started Thursday. They celebrated her birthday at school. She got to bring a snack... so we made "princess" cookies. Of course with Hallie I always have a little story... so here is the cookie story!

"Hallie, what color crowns do you want?"
"Pink."
"What about if we do white with pink on them?"
"Mom, if I show up with white cookies my friends are going to be like... What the February? We wanted pink cookies!" she stated with lots of attitude!

I swear she has skipped 4 and went straight to 14!! Guess we have been watching too much Ellen this month! :)

Then today, Friday, Hallie got a birthday box and card from Grandma Tricia and Papa. She loved her zoo package! Zoo membership, quarters to feed the goats, animal crackers, and a little Giraffe named Slamdunk (she thought she'd just call him Hallie, though). Now all we need is some warmer weather!!

Pooky Bear

Here is my FIRST all out digital page!! For those of you wondering "what now?" I am going to make several pages digitally and then order a Shutterfly 8X8 hardcover book and in it will be all of my layouts I have been working on.

Salt and Pepper...

Okay, so last night I was driving Hallie, my almost 4 year old to dance when we had this conversation...

"Mommy, I want to go see the alligators"
"at the zoo?"
"yes, does our zoo have sharks?"
"no, not our zoo..."
"are there sharks in Illinois?"
"no, sharks live in salt water, water with salt in it"
"yeah, ours just have pepper"

Gettin' Digi on the Catwalk...

Okay, you non-scrappers are thinking "What the February???" {that's what Ellen has been saying this month, hehehe, love her!}

The layout I designed using digital downloads from Scrap InStyle TV for my upcoming class... Get Digi with it... has been selected for the catwalk (basically the fashionistas pick their favs for the week and they are posted for others to see) --- okay, this is really starting to sound like a secret society... but trust me... it is exciting!!

You can see the catwalk by clicking here.
As for my upcoming class the dates are March 15 from 4-6 and March 29 from 2-4. The cost is $20... In this class you will learn a TON about editing & organizing pictures, make a hybrid (paper and digital) layout, and recieve a cd of fun fonts and digital elements to play with at home. This is a beginner class, to help you understand the possibilities that are out there for you as a scrapbooker! Call 563-391-0099 to reserve your spot!

Calling all princesses...

Here is the invitation I made for Hallie's birthday.

I downloaded Photoshop Elements... and love it. I have been using CS2... and this is so much more user friendly! I think I see a lot more digital scrapbooking in my future!! It was lots of fun making this. (All of the elements were downloaded from twopeasinabucket.com)

Hallie's Dance Night

Last night was parent visitation at Hallie's dance. Here is a little video of the beginning of her recital tap dance. She's got the beginning down... but missed dance last week and hasn't learned that yet. She did great last night!!! {She does tap, ballet & tumbling}

A little Reesey post...

I know, I am on a roll tonight... I have just been taking so many pics the last few days I can't stop!! :) I just had to post this sweet little Reese! We moved our step stool into her room because she LOVES to just watch outside and "talk" to Bentley when he is out there. She is really starting to love this dog!

It's a good thing, really....

If you have kids you have to go buy this month's issue of Martha Stewart Living... good things for kids.

They have a ton of fun things to make with your kids with stuff you should have around your house. Here are the things we did today.

A piggy bank made from a mini water bottle...

"Elephant" feet...
(She's got some practicing to do with these)

Telephones...

More pics of the girls...

Just wanted to take some really upclose pictures to show a friend... so you all have to look at them :)

And can you believe I actually got one with both of them smiling???

Blog Challenge...

Each month we have a challenge on Scrapaganza's blog... This month is to do a layout about someTHING... no people or pets or anything living..... So here is some inspiration... there is still time to enter! Deadline is Feb 29th. Just e-mail your entry to scrapaganzaonline@gmail.com!

And the million dollar question... What does Red Velvet taste like?? I didn't want to try it because I thought it was chocolate... Penny convinced me to give it a try. But how would you explain the taste to someone who hasn't tried it?? really moist vanilla??... but not really?? I know I have some "cake makers" reading this... what do you think?

Mommy, why are the aliens here?

So we have obviously been watching too much Men in Black around here...

Today we were walking into Hy-Vee and Hallie asks,

"Mommy, why are the aliens here?"
"What do you mean?" I say, puzzled.
"Why are the aliens at Hy-Vee?"
"What are you talking about?"
"Over there..." she states, very matter-of-factly... while pointing to the armored truck parked up front!!

We have scarred her for life... she now thinks it is the aliens driving around in armored trucks :) For now... that is okay.
