Hallie the kindergartener!!

Here is Hallie's first day of school!! We had set our alarms for 7:30am... she was in waking us up at 7:15!! She was soooo excited :) She got to ride the school bus!! {how exciting!!} This day seemed to last a long time... I kept checking the clock to see if it was time to wait outside for her!!
Finally... her bus pulled up!
The bus driver says, "Hallie." "Hallie?" "Is there a Hallie on the bus?"
{Okay, going into a bit of panic mode}
The bus driver stands up... walks back... and there she was ASLEEP!! :) First day of school wore her out!!
She absolutely LOVES school! She is so excited to go everyday! She carries her lunchbox seperate {we always say, "stick it in your bag"} Hallie says "That isn't how the schoolers do it"!! She is having a great time!

Guess what... today she got an e-mail telling about Student Council elections!! What?!?!? Already?? But I guess she wants to run! {Scarey.... for me!!} She was also super excited that the entire school gets to go to the Iowa State Fair on the 13th!

What a relief... hard to imagine that just a few years ago I wasn't sure if Hallie was going to go to 3 year old preschool... because she wouldn't go alone!!

Okay, one more story...
Hallie: "Mom, I like your necklace"
Me: "Thanks"
Hallie: "I just filled up your magic bucket"
Me: "What"?
Hallie: "My teacher says says when you tell people something nice you fill up their bucket, and you don't want to be a bucket dipper"

I'm glad she is learning so much!! I'm sure I'll have a lot more "Kindergarten Lessons" to share!

(Here are 2 pics from the Open House on Kindergarten Eve)

OK, THAT is funny! But not all that surprising (the falling asleep part!)
Riding the bus... oh how buses scare me! LOL!
Seriously, I have irrational school bus fears! Must have had somethin' bad happen on the bus! Or one too many 60 minutes about buses-who knows! LOL!

Can't believe she is in KINDERGARTEN! WOW! :)

Thought I was the only one with school bus fears!!! Good for you, you let her ride!!! We live too close to the school for my kids to ride in elementary. Anyway----cute pictures! She will do great!!! Can't wait to see you this weekend too---Ellie is very excited to see Hallie! :)

LOVE IT! I think the magic bucket story is the cutest thing ever!!! I love that she fell asleep on the school bus too - she was prob so excited and finally got to relax a little when the day was finally over - so much, she feel asleep - too cute! Keep us posted on the student council elections! :-)

too funny we have that same logic here in small town IL...when the kids are being mean we say dont be a bucket dipper, or if they are being nice we say way to fill my bucket! LOL
